Audio Introduction
Sleep and meditation are closely connected. When the mind begins to settle and the body feels safe, rest can follow more naturally.
Many people approach sleep feeling tired but still wired. The mind may continue moving even when the body wants to slow down. Meditation can gently guide the nervous system into a calmer state, making it easier for the body to rest.
In this short practice, we begin with something simple. Rather than trying to force sleep, the intention is to help the body recognize a sense of safety and ease.
You are welcome to return to this meditation whenever you need it. Some people listen before bed, while others use it whenever their mind feels busy or overstimulated.
Take a few moments to listen, and allow the practice to meet you where you are today.
If you would like to continue after tonight’s meditation, the next lesson offers a longer practice designed to help the body settle even more deeply into rest, along with more sleep techniques for better rest. Now you are invited to experience a short guided meditation to help the body begin to unwind before sleep.
